Freda Hall

Freda Catherine Hall, 89, of Albright, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at Sundale Nursing Home. She was born May 12, 1933 in Grafton, daughter of the late Harry Lee and Nora May Shaffer Wolfe.Freda was preceded in death by her loving husband, David M “Diesel Dave” Hall on Sept. 24, 1996.

Freda was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir, the Methodist Women’s Group and taught Sunday School. Freda loved to sing and would often go sing to the sick and elderly. She loved her WVU sports teams as well as the Penguins, Steelers and Pirates. Freda worked for the Preston County Schools and then later at the Preston County Credit Union and retired at the age of 85. She loved going to work there and she thought of it as her second home. Freda loved working with flowers and often people would bring their flowers to her so she could bring them back to life. She never knew a stranger and loved all of her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Arthur Martin Hall and wife Cindy, of Independence; two grandchildren, Stephanie Browning and husband Eric and Taylor Crane and husband Harley; five great-grandchildren, Ellison Browning, Hutson Browning, Pierson Browning, Lillian Crane and Gavin Crane; three brothers, Charles Wolfe and wife Carmie, of Lorain, Ohio, Jim Wolfe and wife Judy, of Grafton, and John Wolfe, of Fellowsville; and one sister, Nancy McDaniel, and husband Fred, of Philippi. In addition to her parents and husband, Freda was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Arthur Wolfe, William L. Wolfe, Robert Wolfe and Sam Wolfe; and two sisters, Virginia Knight and Jane McKinney.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price St., Kingwood, from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 3, and at the Albright United Methodist Church, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, with Pastor Lucinda Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
