Margaret Mosley

Margaret LaVeta Mosley, 87, of Albright, passed away peacefully at the home of her son and daughter-in-law on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023. She was born on Oct. 8, 1935, in Hutchinson, Kan., a daughter of the late Charles Henry and Catherine (Brecht) Gardner. She was the last surviving member of her family.

LaVeta began her career as a legal secretary and then later worked as a secretary for WV Caring. She also drove the Buckwheat Express Bus for the Preston County Senior Center. After she retired, she continued to do volunteer work for WV Caring/Hospice and enjoyed helping Kim Riley and others however she could. She loved spending time with her family and friends. LaVeta loved her cats and enjoyed embroidering.

She is survived by one son and spouse, Kenneth and Charlotte Mosley, of Albright; one daughter and spouse, Debra and Jason Ward, of Redmond, Ore.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roy Mosley, in 1989; one son, Marvin Mosley; one great-grandchild; and her brothers, Charles Irving Gardner and Carl Gardner.

Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price St., Kingwood, from noon until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 3, with Pastor Sonny McNear officiating. Following her wishes, Margaret will be interred at Hilltop Memorial Cemetery in Nyssa, Ore. at a later date.
