
Delores Jean Bott Losh, 93, of Elkins, died at her home surrounded by family, Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023. She was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Grafton, a daughter of the late William Bott Sr. and Wilda McCoy.
On Oct. 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, John Robert “Bob” Losh. This year would have been their 75th anniversary. She is survived by three sons, John Roger Losh and wife Denise, of Elkins, William Gregory Losh, of Roswell, Ga., and Stewart Bradley Losh and Kacey Shupe, of Fayetteville, N.C.; 10 grandchildren: Justin Losh, of Fort Myers, Fla., Angie Wills, of Fairmont, Chelsea Losh of Rome, Ga., John Losh, of Fairmont, Matthew Losh, of Locust, N.C., Alex Losh, of Athens, Ga., Danielle Hendrix, of Lumberton, N.C., Lindsey Stell, of Elkins, Sam Losh, of Atlanta, and Ricky Losh, of Atlanta; step-grandchildren, Isaac Stalnaker, of Waldorf, Md., and CeCe Mathis, of Morgantown; 10 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Don Bott, of Senecaville, Ohio, and sister, Emily Jerkin, of Cumberland, Md. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Billie Williamson and daughter-in-law, Adrena Losh.
Jean was a 1947 graduate of Grafton High School, where she served in the Civil Air Patrol. During her life, she lived for several years in Buckhannon and Morgantown. While raising her sons, she was a Cub Scout Den Leader for all three and was awarded the Silver Fawn Award for her service. Jean was a retired employee of West Virginia University and was an avid Mountaineer fan who was a football season ticket holder for 34 years. Jean also loved her time spent with friends and family at their camp on the Buckhannon River. She was a Methodist by faith.
Friends may call at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, with the Rev. Brian L. Seders officiating. A committal service will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery near Grafton at 2 p.m. Thursday and interment will follow. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Delores Jean Bott Losh.
