Students from across all disciplines at the Monongalia County Technical Education Center took part in the center’s annual in-house skills competition on Thursday.
That includes everyone from graphic arts students to medical technicians-in-training to future chefs and restaurant owners.
“We have judges coming in from businesses in the community,” MTEC’s director Greg Dausch said.
“We’re proud of our students and this is a good showcase for them,” he said.
The event is always the opening act for the national SkillsUSA competition, which will be in the spring in Atlanta, Ga.
A group of MTEC students already attended the West Virginia SkillsUSA Leadership Academy earlier this month in Charleston, where they had an audience with Gov. Jim Justice and Babydog.
Attending were: Mattelyn Anderson, Gabby Chico, Anthony Cowell, Hannah Hanlin, Kendal Saul, Olivia Tennant, Isaiah Westfall and Bobbi Wolfe.
