Carole H. Evans Beveridge, 79, of Kingwood, after a long illness, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Feb. 14, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born on Feb. 19, 1943, in New London, Conn.
She was the daughter of the late Carl and Evelyn Lovelace Evans, of Newport, R.I.
She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin, friend and much more.
She graduated from Rogers High School in Newport, R.I. in 1961. She went to work as a bank teller before marrying her husband of 28 years. She worked as a waitress at the Canfield House in Newport, R.I. where she met many famous people like the Kennedy’s and many more. She was a waitress at the Heldreth in Kingwood and a nurse aide at Preston Memorial, and she worked at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in the ED, where she retired from.
She was a Sunday school teacher at the Friends Church in Portsmouth, R.I., and she was a member of the Kingwood Nazarene church for several years.
She loved the ocean, football and baseball. She loved her three daughters, sons-in-law, her six grandchildren and her five great-grandchildren. She loved her cats, “Baby” and “Butter,” and watching the birds outside. She was a big animal lover of all kinds. She never knew a stranger. She always had a kind word. She loved country and gospel music.
She was also preceded in death by her ex-husband and best friend of 50 years, Paul R. Beveridge; her granddaughter, Rachel Myers; and her special aunt, Sis Adams.
She leaves behind her brother, Carl Evans Jr.; her cousin Barbie; three daughters and their spouses, Brenda and Steve Myers, Tammy Beveridge and Polly and Randy Adams; her grandchildren, Steven Myers, Skye Adams, Brian Myers, Summer and Damian Cooke; and her great-grandchildren, Bronwyn, Lilia, James Skye and Abigail. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
The family wants to give a special thanks to Dr. Michael Schwarzenberg and his staff for the excellent care they gave our mother.
We want to thank D.J. and Debbie from WV Caring Hospice for the special care they gave our mom.
We want to thank the staff at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood for the compassion they showed our mom during this time.
Friends will be received at the Kingwood Funeral Home 295 South Price St., Kingwood, from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 18, and from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday Feb. 19.
The funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Delbert Lyons officiating. Interment at Damon Cemetery.
