William E. “Bill” Johnson Jr., 73, of Morgantown, left his family to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023. He was born Jan. 31, 1950, a son of the late William and Juanita Johnson. Bill graduated from Glenville High School.
He went to work for Bell Telephone Company and Formall Rubber in Ohio, before coming back to West Virginia, where he worked for WVU. Bill started as a custodian and worked his way up to facilities management.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Renay Johnson; sons, Bill Johnson “B,” of Maryland, and James Johnson, of Morgantown; daughter, Brenda Johnson, of Fairmont; brother and sister, Neal and Nancy Johnson; special cousin, Darrell Wilson; and his loyal friend, Major. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Johnson; twin daughters; special mother-in-law; and his six special companions, Pinky, Sassy, Sandy, Joe, Mindy and Trooper.
Family and friends may gather at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17. Following the funeral service, Bill will be laid to rest at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
