Suzanne “Susie” (Stiles) Knotts, 81, passed away Thursday Jan. 19, 2023, at Stonerise Kingwood under the care of WV Caring Hospice.
She was born in Elkins on Feb. 24, 1941, a daughter of the late Dinsmore Lafayette and Josephine Eleanor (Close) Stiles.
Susie grew up in St. George and attended schools there and in Parsons. When her children were small, she was active as a homeroom mother while working full-time. She held several different positions at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood and later worked in sterile processing at Mon Health Medical Center, where she retired. Her hobbies since retirement included watching sports on the television and working word searches.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Ann (Wendell) Hileman, of Kingwood; two sons, Timothy Allen Knotts, of Kingwood and Christopher Lynn (Nicole) Knotts, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one sister, Ruth Louise Stiles, of Stonerise Kingwood; eight grandchildren, Justin (Courtney), Tyler (Alexandrea), Nicholas and Leilani Knotts, Jael (Garrett) Livingston, Gordon (Ashlee) and Zachary (Molly) Pull and Wendy (Micah) Epstein; 14 great-grandchildren, Carter, Avah, Everly and Charlotte Knotts, Brynlee Summers, Brylen Livingston, Murphy Burton, Ryker, Hudson, Maddox, Devlin and Leighton Pull and Jove and Lucas Goehler; four nephews, Raymond, Joe, Porter and Curtis Stiles; a son-in-law, Dave Pull; a former daughter-in-law, Lisa Harned; two close friends, Mary Bohon and Roger Reel.
In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Mabel Stiles; one daughter, Pamela Sue Pull; one grandson, Joshua Thomas Knotts; and two great-grandchildren, Hadlee Faith Pull and Blake Alexandrea Knotts.
Susie’s family would like to thank the staff at Stonerise Kingwood, Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital, Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center and WV Caring Hospice for the excellent care they gave her over the last several years of her life.
The Kingwood Funeral Home will be carrying out Susie’s final wishes of cremation with no services.
