Eliane M. Alam, 94, of Morgantown, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born Aug. 25, 1928, in Paris, France, a daughter of the late Charles and Marguerite Bonhote. Mrs. Alam lived a full life on three continents. She was French-Swiss and married Aslam Alam from Pakistan, whom she met in England. Mrs. Alam resided in Pakistan, mostly in military bases, as her husband was an Army officer. After her husband’s passing in May of 1996, she moved to America and resided close to her son, Dominique. Mrs. Alam enjoyed adventure and traveled extensively throughout the East and West Coasts of America.
Surviving are a son, Dominique Alam (daughter-in-law, Citrina Alam), of Morgantown; two grandchildren, Michael Alam (granddaughter-in-law Kathryn Alam) and Justin Alam; two great-grandchildren, Abram and Ellie Alam; and a sister, Claude Basu, of Paris, France. Deceased is a brother, Olivier Bonhote.
There will be no public viewing. A celebration of life will be announced later. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Yoskovich Funeral Home (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine St., Carmichaels, Pa. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
