
Hubert Benton Moyers 93, of Bruceton Mills, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at Stonerise Kingwood.
The son of the late Harold D. and Grace Rodeheaver Moyers, he was born Feb. 5, 1929, in Brandonville.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He retired as a maintenance supervisor from West Virginia University. He worked doing refrigeration, air conditioning, equipment repair and was an auto mechanic. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren and the American Legion. His greatest love was farming and being outdoors.
Hubert Benton is survived by his two sons, Perry Moyers and Clarence Moyers, of Bruceton Mills; sister-in-law, Rosellen Moyers, of Bruceton Mills; several nieces and nephews; and Arthur Moyers, of Morgantown.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Glendine Friend Moyers; three sisters, Helen Spear, Juanita Miller and Irene Hughes; and two brothers, Myron Moyers and Dwight Moyers.
Perry and Clarence would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Stonerise Kingwood for the care that they provided for their father and Melvin Street, their father’s Stonerise roommate, for his kindness and watchfulness.
Friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service with Pastor Michael Bernard officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills.
Military graveside honors will be provided by the Preston County Military Honor Guard and the WVANG Funeral Honors, Camp Dawson.
