Robert E. “Bob” Hartley, 79, of Morgantown, and McHenry, Md., passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 1, 2023, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Morgantown on Aug. 28, 1943. Bob was raised by his grandparents, the late Ernest and Annabelle Walters.
Bob is survived by his wife of 30 years, Teresa “Terry” Lynn Hartley; and his four children, Jennifer Krause (Andrew), Charles (Jaclyn), Sandra Sterling (Mike) and Kimberley (James) Bischoff. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren, Lee Conner (Kara), Casey Conner (Shanna), Brady Inskeep, Max Phillips Hartley, Hailey Jo, Alexandra Harshman, Amanda Gatto (Chris), Madeleine, Abigail, Elijah and Izabelle; and great-grandchildren, Isaac, Payton, Lincoln, Gracelynn, and Sadie Jo; his mother-in-law, Mary Catherine Sutherland; and his special friend of many years, Wendy England Tinney.
Bob was a Morgantown High School graduate and operated the Tic-Toc shop in Morgantown for many years. Most recently, he worked alongside his wife in their catering company, Meadow Mountain Catering WV. He loved his home in Deep Creek Lake, Md. and enjoyed fishing, boating and time on his porch when he was spending time there.
At Bob’s request, he has been cremated and a private prayer service will be held. His wife, Terry, would like to extend her gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at WVU Medicine for the kindness and care given to Bob.
