Melody Perry, 68, of Summers School Road, Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at her home. She was born Jan. 18, 1954, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Willard and Lucy Arretta (McDonald) Nicholson.
She is survived by her siblings, Barry Nicholson and Valerie Nicholson and her husband Larry Showalter; sister-in-law, Barbara Nicholson; brother-in-law, Russ Perry; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Perry Sr.; stepson, Larry “Bubby” Perry Jr.; infant daughter, Freda Mae Perry; brother, Delmar Nicholson; and sister-in-law, JoAnn Nicholson.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Brooke and Cynthia for their loving care.
Friends and family will be received at Nicholson Chapel, Summers School Road, Morgantown, from 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, with Pastor Elmer Nicholson and John Conaway officiating. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
