The 41st Annual Holiday Toy and Food Distribution in Monongalia County took place Thursday.
According to one United Way official, it was quite busy at the West Virginia Army National Guard Morgantown Readiness Center.
The event, which is a partnership between the United Way of Mon and Preston Counties and Christian Help, strives to put food on the table and toys under the tree for area families in need.
Since the 2020 COVID pandemic, distribution has been handled as a drive-thru event. Volunteers help families by loading food from the Mountaineer Food Bank tractor-trailer into their vehicles.
This aspect is coordinated by United Way.
Christian Help handles the toy side and required registration so they could be sure to have enough for those who would be picking up.
