Local Girl Scouts will collect personal hygiene items to prepare about 300 hygiene bags to distribute at the free Christmas dinner being served at Wesley United Methodist Church on Christmas Day.
The dinner is set for 1-3 p.m. Dec. 25. The bags will be handed out to those in need.
Bags will be made for both adults and children and will include a variety of personal care items, but also things such as socks, gloves, hats, scarves, “hot hands” heat packs, etc. Children’s bags will also include a small toy, books, crayons and coloring books.
Community members can bring items to the Morgantown Christmas parade, set for 6 p.m. Monday downtown. Girl Scouts will make their way down High Street collecting donations.
Items can also be dropped off at Wesley United Methodist Church located at 503 N. High St. The Girl Scouts will pack the bags on Dec. 18 and donations will be accepted until then.
