Darrell Hanlin

Darrell Lee “Butch” Hanlin, 75, of Masontown, entered into eternal rest Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022, at J.W. Ruby Hospital in Morgantown, with loving family by his side.

He was born Dec. 17, 1946, in Oakland (Sunny Side area), Md., a son of the late Alvin and Mildred (Shugars) Hanlin.

Butch was a retired coal miner. Butch loved hunting and feeding deer in the yard. He was a fan of Classic cars, especially Ford trucks. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Lou Garner; two daughters, Christine Hayes and husband Lon, of Dawson, Pa., and Tammara Turner and husband Lester, of Masontown; five brothers, Bobby, Dale, Kenny, Jimmy and Gary; three sisters, Dorothy Menear, Nina Haskell and Nadara Spangler; three grandchildren, Cody Turner and wife Amber, Leah Hayes and Haley Hayes; and one great-grandchild, Cooper Turner.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Glenna Miller, Nelda Hanlin and Alma Leavitt; three brothers, Billy Hanlin, Alvin Hanlin Jr. and Mikey Hanlin.

Family offers their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at WVU Hospital for his care.

Visitation at Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28 and again from 10-11 a.m., the time of funeral services, on Tuesday, Nov. 29 with Pastor Marty Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, (Herring) Masontown.
