Surrounded by her family, Carolyn Joy Erenrich, 93, passed from the life she loved here into the glorious arms of her Jesus on Thursday, Nov. 10.
She is survived by her three children, Tina Beth Erenrich Summers (Darrell), of Morgantown, Danny Erenrich (Connie), of Morgantown, and the Rev. David Eugene Erenrich (Janice), of Hagerstown, Md. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She loved and prayed for each. She is also survived by her loving sister, Gloria Beth Magyar, of North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her parents, Samuel S. Pierce and Ann Myrtle (Field) Pierce; her grandparents John and Hattie Field; and her brother, Samuel Pierce.
For over 40 years, she worked alongside her husband, Melvin, as they co-owned Ideal Television Service in Westover. Together they built one of the best-known businesses in the area.
Carolyn loved helping people. Her gentle and kind spirit warmed the hearts of many. She was indeed a Proverbs 31 wife and mother, “Clothed with strength and dignity. Her children stand and bless her. A woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.” Her love for her Lord Jesus and the church served as a focal point for all that she did in her life. Indeed, her children caught her faith. She loved to read and had shelf after shelf of books that her children often raided for inspiration and guidance. And there was no time as important as spending time with family. All knew that their mother/grandmother was praying for them.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Harmony, Stonerise and Morgantown Hospice for their kindness and compassion. We were moved by their loving care for our mother.
Please, in lieu of flowers, Carolyn would have appreciated, and her family is requesting that a donation be made to Salvation Army, 1264 University Ave., Morgantown, WV 26505 and/or to Scott’s Run Settlement House, P.O. Box 590, Pursglove, WV 26546.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 3-6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14 and again from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 15 with Pastor H. Wayne Swisher officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Fairmont.
