
John Thomas Douglas “Tom or Pappy Tom,” 92, of Morgantown, passed away Sept. 21, 2022, at home with his family by his side. He was born April 2, 1930, to the late James and Margaret (Ord) Douglas.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janis “Jan” Douglas; sister, Ann Trowbridge, of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Christy Douglas and fiancé Howard “Buck” Cress, of Morgantown; stepdaughter, Diana Kojac and significant other Fred Cann; and stepson, Robert M Kojac and wife Rochelle Kojac, of Frederick, Md. In addition, Tom is survived by seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his two sons, Johnny and Jamie Douglas, two sisters and three brothers.
Tom retired from the Morgantown Utility Board and spent time with family and friends, cheering for WVU sports and caring for his horse, Coco.
Tom’s request for cremation is being honored.
Tom’s family will receive friends at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, with memorial services to begin at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. His ashes will be laid to rest at the Mount Calvary Cemetery following the services.
