MORGANTOWN — The Monongalia County Commission on Wednesday approved an emergency polling location change, removing Westover VFW Post 9916 as both an Election Day polling location and an early voting site.
Due to a lack of heat in the VFW building, voters in Precincts 71, 72, 73 and 75 will now vote at Skyview Elementary School, located at 668 River Road.
The Monongalia County Clerk’s office will mail written notification of the location change to each voter in the affected precincts.
The move eliminates one of the county’s four early voting sites.
Early voting will begin Oct. 26 at the county’s election center in the Mountaineer Mall, as well as Mason-Dixon Historical Park and the former Urse Dodge location in Pierpont Landing.
