Bonnie Perkins

Bonnie F. Perkins, 83, of Elysian Avenue, Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Nov. 3, 1938, in Littleton, daughter of the late Ethel and John Lough.

Bonnie worked at Ms. Blues restaurant and Westinghouse before meeting her husband, Denzil Perkins. She then dedicated her life to being a full-time homemaker. Her husband and children were her priority.

Bonnie was an avid WVU fan. Her support for the basketball and football programs was unwavering. She was a proud Mountaineer who loved her state and would illuminate at the playing of “Country Roads.”

She is survived by three daughters, Dawna Perkins-Hicks and son-in-law Ron Hicks, whom she fondly thought of as her son, Sharon Perkins Latner and son-in-law Greg Latner, of Palm Bay, Fla., and Tammy Cyphert and husband Brian, of Florida; and six grandchildren, Emma Kay Hicks, Scott Caniford and Anna, Grace, Faith and Mireya Cyphert.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil L. Perkins, who passed on May 21, 1997, along with three siblings.

A private viewing and graveside service was held on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022.

The family would like to extend their deepest and most sincere gratitude to WV Caring Advanced Illness Care/Hospice for their impeccable and compassionate care they provided for Bonnie during her final days. Nurse Ashley, we will be forever grateful.
