
Thomas Frederick Bobo, 75, of Kingwood, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at Mon Health Medical Center, in Morgantown.
He was born May 22, 1947, in Morgantown and was the son of the late Fred O. Bobo and Elizabeth “Betty” (Evick) Bobo.
Tom was a 1965 graduate of Kingwood High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves 354th Ordinance Company. At the age of 19, he started working for the Albright Power Station, from where he retired.
Tom was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Kingwood Lions Club and the Preston County Country Club in Kingwood.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends. Tom will always be remembered as the biggest tall tale story teller who loved pulling your leg.
Tom is survived by his daughters and spouses; Leslie and Richard Riley, of Independence, and Heather and Spencer Ferguson, of Woodbury, Minn.; five grandchildren, Logan Brand, Nolan Brand, Ethan Riley, Owen Ferguson and Carter Ferguson; two sisters, Carole L. Gregg, of Oakland, Md. and Mary Jo Gregg, of Terra Alta; his fiancée, Sherry Gould, of Albuquerque, N.M.; her daughter, Heather Bickel and two grandchildren, Ryan Bickel and Lauren Bickel, all of Austin, Texas; his former wife, Nancy Dixon, of Independence; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James Gregg; and former in-laws, William and Lois Dixon.
Friends will be received at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 South Price St., Kingwood from 3-8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25. A vigil service will be conducted in the funeral home at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Kingwood, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, with Father Charles McGinnis as celebrant. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Kingwood.
