Dottie Lou Stiles, of Blacksville, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at St. Barbara’s Memorial Nursing Home in Monongah.
She was born Sept. 4, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Lucy Stiles.
Dottie worked at the Clay-Battelle Senior Center in Blacksville, where she enjoyed playing cards and spending time with friends. She enjoyed Amish trips, camping and treasured her family. She was a member of the Blacksville United Methodist Church; however, she attended other churches with friends, including Bula Baptist Church and Wana United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her sisters, Mary Copeland and Betty Haught and her husband Bill; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; several cousins; and a close companion, Ron Toothman.
Dottie was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Raber and Anna Mae Lazzelle; brothers-in-law, Donald “Ab” Raber, Chuck Lazzelle and Raymond Copeland Sr.; a niece, Donna Ruth Raber; and her close friend, Helen McCabe.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Saint Barbaras Memorial Nursing Home and Amedysis Hospice, who provided care and support to Dottie and her family.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 18. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, with the Rev. Rose Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in the Blacksville Cemetery.
