Cornelius “Corny” Garfield Smith Jr., 68, formerly of Morgantown, passed away Aug. 18, 2022, at his home in Silver Springs, Md. He was born Oct. 10, 1953, in Oakland, Md., son of the late Cornelius Garfield Smith Sr. and Ruth Elaine Smith. Cornelius was a 1971 graduate of Kingwood High School, and he worked at Hope Gas and was a LPN in Silver Springs, Md. for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Jocelyn Smith; sons, Cornelius Smith and Eric Pryor; daughter, Candice Dillistone; brother, Kenneth Smith; and sister, Barbara Smith King. In addition to his parents, Cornelius was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Elaine Smith.
A celebration of life will be held at the Marilla Center in Morgantown, from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022.
