Vivian Loraine Rutherford, 84, of Fellowsville, passed away at her residence on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022. She was born on Sept. 5, 1938, in Preston County, son of the late Leslie Ray Larue and Ruth Blanche (Stone) Larue Shaffer.
Vivian graduated from Masontown High School. She worked as an aide for the Preston County Board of Education with 30-plus years of service. Vivian was a member of the Fellowsville United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and very active with the church. She loved reading and doing word search puzzles.
Vivian was survived by her loving daughter, Rhonda Lynne Rutherford/Bulford and husband Larry, of Rowlesburg; two grandchildren, Jamie and Kevin Stemple and Aimee and Sarah Bulford; one great-grandchild, Kelsey and Derek North and son, Jaxon; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, George Lyle Rutherford; and four brothers, Glen Ray Larue, Harry Larue, Lance Shaffer and Wayman Charles Larue.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Israel Cemetery, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, with Pastor Kevin Keplinger officiating Bolyard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Rutherford family.
