The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute Innovation Center is turning purple this month.
The lights shinning down on the building most nights are to mark September as World Alzheimer’s Month, a global initiative to raise awareness around, educate, encourage support of and demystify dementia.
World Alzheimer’s Day is Sept. 21.
The theme for World Alzheimer’s Month 2022 is Know dementia, know Alzheimer’s.
Dr. Ali R. Rezai is the John D. Rockefeller IV chair in Neuroscience, executive chair of the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and associate dean and vice president of neuroscience.
The RNI’s Innovation Center, opened in May 2019 and features the latest technology for rapid applied human research. This facility has unparalleled capabilities in Human Performance and Recovery, Neuromodulation, Virtual Realty, Imaging and Neuroscience Predictive Data Analytics.
Doctors and researchers there are working with national and international experts in a variety of public-private partnerships designed to accelerate discoveries and translate them into real-life applications.
The building will shine purple throughout September, except when WVU football is at home.
