Ruth Renee (Bucklew) Martin, 73, of Gladesville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, at home with family by her side. She was born on Feb. 20, 1949, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Foster O. and Wanda M. “Wigley” Bucklew.
Ruth worked at West Virginia University for 37 years. She loved cooking, gardening, her flowers, going to church and spending time with her family. Ruth was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Gladesville.
Ruth is survived by four sons, Eric Martin and spouse Alisa, of Kingwood, Curtis Martin and spouse Anita, of Masontown, Christopher Martin and girlfriend Marcie, of Gladesville, and youngest son, Anthony Martin, of Gladesville; two brothers, Raymond Bucklew and Carolyn, of Drexel, N.C., Foster Bucklew and Judy, of Independence; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and grandparents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, David Ray Martin, in 2021.
Family will receive friends at Bolyard Funeral Home from 2-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, and from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, with Pastor Jim Carder officiating. Interment will follow at Gladesville Cemetery.
