Emmett Cecil Kincaid, 83, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown. He was born in Hinton, on July 2, 1939, a son of the late Cecil and Maxine Kincaid.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Vernon Kincaid, Homer Kincaid, Roy Kincaid and Herbert Kincaid; and sister, Juanita Hess.
Emmett is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bernice Kincaid; daughters, Thelma (Jeff) Montgomery and Sherri Kincaid; son, Rod Kincaid; sister-in-law, Linda Kincaid; grandchildren, Erica (Ron) Perets and Justin Ayersman; and great-grandson, Aiden Ayersman.
Emmett grew up in Morgantown, graduating from the University High School Class of 1957. Shortly thereafter, like all his brothers, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served as a paratrooper for three years before returning to begin his lifelong career as a bricklayer. Emmett was a bit of a homebody, using much of his free time to tend to his lawn and garden, of which he took immaculate care. He also enjoyed hunting on occasion, proving his true love for the outdoors. When not outside, Emmett could be found spending time with his parents and watching whichever televised sport happened to be in season. He never missed a game, and those game days will never be the same without him.
Following his wishes, Emmett will be cremated, with a small family memorial to follow at a later date.
