West Virginia University President Gordon Gee wraps up a three-county tour today in Kanawha County.
He was to be in Pocahontas County last week, but that stop had to be postponed and will be rescheduled later this year.
Joining Gee on the tour are Jorge Atiles, dean of Extension and Engagement and director of WVU Extension; and Danny Twilley, assistant vice president of economic, community and asset development for the Brad and Alys Smith Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative.
Last week, they made stops at Hill & Holler Pizza, 970 N. Jefferson St., Lewisburg; and at the Moco Diner, 375 Main St., Union.
Today, they will be at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.
In Greenbrier County, they met with members of the Ascend WV cohort; community leaders, 4-H and FFA youth; and WVU Extension faculty and staff for lunch in Union, Monroe County.
Today, Gee will deliver keynote remarks to the Charleston Rotary Club in Kanawha County.
This is part of the university president’s annual summer tour to visit other areas of the state.
