Charles Patrick “Pat” Bowman, 75, passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, in Elizabeth City, N.C.
Pat was born July 11, 1947, the son of Carl M. and Bonita R. Smith Bowman.
Pat worked as a coal miner for CONSOL and retired in 1991 and later retired from the WV Geological Survey as an office assistant in 2012. Pat was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army and honorably served in Germany during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his two daughters Diana S. Richmond (Matthew Wain), of Columbus, Ohio, and Lisa Staubly, of Morgantown; son, Todd Bowman (Heather), of Elizabeth City, N.C.; six grandchildren, Sadie Basem (Dakota), Paige Young (Steve), Arden Staubly, Tessa Staubly, Harrison Staubly and John Hopkins; and siblings, Shirley White, of Bunker Hill, Carol Bowman and Denice Corder, both of Blacksville, and James Bowman, of Morgantown.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of 37 years, Patricia D. Blake Bowman.
The family will gather with friends at Fred Jenkins Funeral Home, from 10 am until the time of services at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 2, with Pastor Clay Manos officiating. Pat will be laid to rest with military honors at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. Honors will be conducted by WVANG, Camp Dawson, Kingwood, and the Monongalia County Honor Guard.
