Earl McMinn

Earl Junior “Bud” McMinn, 84, of Morgantown, passed away early Thursday, July 21, 2022, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Born May 24, 1938, in Morgantown, he was the son of the late Earl McMinn Sr. and the late Helen Haley McMinn.

Bud is survived by his wife of
59 years, Wilma Jane Welsh McMinn, whom he married March 31, 1963; two children, Michael E. McMinn and his wife Emelita, of Charleston, S.C., and Lisa Bryant and her husband Robert, of Salisbury, Md.; four grandchildren, Samuel Robert Bryant and his wife Laura, of Salisbury, Md., Kathryn Engleman and her husband Timothy, of Sterling Heights, Mich., Ethan Bryant, of Salisbury, Md., and Mariah McMinn, of North Charleston, S.C.; his siblings, Darla Leach, of Morgantown, and Myron McMinn and his wife P.J. Johnston, of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.

Bud was a devoted family man and loved his family dearly. He was the greatest husband and father that his family could have asked for. He was very adventurous and made sure that his family had new activities to do and roads to travel. Bud was also a truck driver who drove more than 3 million miles accident-free. But most of all, he loved God and was proud of the work he did at Calvary Chapel Church, where he served as an “all around handyman.”

Friends may join Bud’s family for a service of remembrance to honor his life and legacy at Calvary Chapel Church, 493 Tyrone Road, Morgantown, at
11 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, with Pastor Lonny Ferrerio officiating. Bud will be inurned at a later date in the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown with full military honors accorded.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making contributions in Bud’s memory to Calvary Chapel Church.
