Patty JoAnne (Massie) Butcher, 88, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022, at Morgantown Health and Rehab. Patty was born April 21, 1934, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Roy Lee Massie and Daisy Madeline Waller Massie.
Patty was a 1952 graduate of Morgantown High School. She was employed as a registered nurse with Monongalia Health Medical Center for over 35 years. Patty also enjoyed listening to music.
Patty is survived by her daughter, Denise Bollinger (David), of Cedar Park Texas; one son, Jerry L. Butcher, of Morgantown; granddaughter, Lindsey Brown, of Little Elm, Texas; great-grandchildren, Addison and Charlotte Brown; one sister, Linda Lou Johnson, of Westover; and sister-in-law, Margaret Church, of Las Vegas.
Patty was preceded in death by her husband Gene Harold Butcher in 1994.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Evergreen Assisted living, Morgantown Health and Rehab and Mon Health Medical Center for their love and care shown to Patty.
A graveside service will be held at Lawnwood Cemetery, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. McCulla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
