Mitchell Stickler

Mitchell Gene Stickler, 87, of Bruceton Mills, died Monday, July 11, 2022, at his home.
He was born Sept. 19, 1934, in Fairmont and was the son of the late Elmer Daniel and Ruby Lee (Ball) Sticker.

Mitchell worked for Bell Lab, Virtual Time Sharing and Penamation. After his retirement he did consulting for Marriott for their computer systems. He was a 1952 graduate of Barrackville High School. He received his electrical engineering degree from West Virginia University and his master’s electrical engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1957. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Terra Alta. He was recognized in Who’s Who in the World, American Men and Women of Science.

Mitchell is survived by his wife, Janet Elaine (Mankins) Sticker; five sons, Mitchell C. Stickler, of Del., Matthew G. Stickler, of Oregon, Mark G. Stickler, of Pennsylvania, Patrick B. Stickler, of Washington, and Jason Stickler, of West Virginia; two brothers, Daniel L. Stickler and Richard E. Stickler, both of Florida; six grandchildren, Michelle, Claire, Andrew, Vera, Dillion and Daniel.

Friends will be received at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 South Price St., Kingwood, from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 14. A vigil service will be conducted in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Sabastian Catholic Church in Kingwood, at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 15, with Father Charles McGinnis as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Howesville.
