Delbert Horace Dalton, 63, of Morgantown, passed away at his residence on Thursday, July 7, 2022. He was born Jan. 6, 1959 in Grafton, a son of the late Horace and Lilian Dalton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Dalton, and his brother-in-law, Fred.
He is survived by his companion of 26 years, Barbara Pritt; a son, Delbert Dalton (Tiffany); three daughters, Sarah Baker, Belinda Hicks and Rachel Pritt; his brothers, Clayton Dalton (Linda) and Eddie Dalton; his sisters, Patty Dalton, Lona McDaniel and Pam Jackson (Gene); a brother-in-law, Jerry Dalton; 12 grandchildren; and his best friend, Mick Moore.
Delbert spent 25 years working for WVU in environmental services then went on to work for MTEC as a custodian for another 18 years. He enjoyed his work and took great pride in what he did. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and repairing vehicles. Delbert was a humble, sociable man that everyone loved. His family would say he never met a stranger. He had a big heart with a special place for his family, friends and pets alike.
A visitation will be held at Fred Jenkins Funeral Home, from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12 with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. In accordance with Delbert’s wishes, cremation will follow.
