William Edward “Bill” “June” Wheeler Jr., 72, of Kingwood, died on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.
Bill was born Oct. 17, 1949, in Morgantown, a son of the late William “Sonny” Edward Wheeler Sr. and Norma Rosalie (Prince) Wheeler Neubauer.
Bill attended Morgantown High School and belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagle Aerie #2391 in Kingwood. He retired after 41 years as a coal truck driver for Hillside Trucking in Kingwood. He loved classic vehicles, racing, autobody repair, raising a garden, cooking for his family and listening to classic rock music and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Kerrie Lynn and Terry Knotts; three brothers and spouses, Gary Wheeler, Billy and Tracy Wheeler and Lyn and Sherry Wheeler; stepbrother, Steve Bishop; three sisters and spouses, Sue and Gary Squires, Wendy Shaffer and Kristy Johnson; stepsister, Robin Wable; two grandchildren and spouses, Robert “Mitchell” and Mattie Thrift and Karlee Morgan Knotts; two great-grandchildren, Haven Jo and Henley June Thrift; and his stepmother, Clara Wable Wheeler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert “Bobby” E. Wheeler; nephew, Bryan Wheeler; sister-in-law, Joann Wheeler; his grandmother, Audrey S. Prince; and stepfather, Richard “Dick” Neubauer.
Friends will be received at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 South Price St., from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, and from noon until the time of the service in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, with Chaplin Dennis Luscin with WV Caring officiating. Cremation service will be under the direction of Kingwood Funeral Home and Crematory following the funeral.
The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie # 2391, 75 Eagle Lane, Kingwood, WV 26537.
