Earl Wilbur Russell, 93, of Wadestown, died Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the Wadestown Fire Department, in Wadestown.
He was born Oct. 3, 1928, in Brave, Pa., a son of the late Earl Russell and Roseanna Wise Russell.
Mr. Russell was retired from the Fairmont Box Factory, where he worked as a mechanic. He also had previously worked for the Monongalia County Board of Education and in his later years worked and enjoyed carpentry. He was a member of the Bula Baptist Church. He loved the Battelle District Fair, where he had once served as the fair director. He proudly served our country in the Army during the Korean War.
Earl is survived by three children and their spouses, Julie (Roger) Hornick, of Fairmont, Randy Russell, of Wadestown, and Tim (Lynn) Russell, of Wadestown. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Benji Tustin, Josh Tustin, Chris Russell and Jennifer Willard; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin Tustin, Jake Tustin and Jacoby Willard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Arthur Russell, whom he was married to for 55 years. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Russell and Robert Russell.
Family and friends will be received at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, and the funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday with Evangelist Thorton Maryfield officiating. Interment will follow at the Wadestown Cemetery in Wadestown.
