Five local fire departments, along with Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department and Mon EMS, responded to the scene of a structure fire late Wednesday morning at a residence located at 508 West Run Road in Morgantown.
Responding fire departments included Star City VFD, Westover VFD, Granville VFD, Brookhaven VFD and River Road VFD, according to the Monongalia County Emergency Management Agency.
Star City Volunteer Fire Department Chief Justin Knotts said no one was home when the fire began and no injuries were reported.
According to Knotts, the fire did not seem suspicious. It appeared the fire began in the kitchen area of the home.
Fire marshals arrived on the scene and are investigating an official cause of the fire and the amount of damage it caused to the home.
