Vicki Loughry

Vicki Dawn Miller Loughry, 68, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 12, 2022, at her residence, after a long illness.

She was born in Morgantown on March 3, 1954, a daughter of the late Dean and Janet Howell Miller. After her marriage, she was blessed with her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dennis and Mary Loughry, who treated her more like one of their own children. They have also preceded her in death.

Vicki is survived by her husband of nearly 52 years, Larry Wayne Loughry; her son, Brian Loughry and his wife Janelle; her grandchildren, Kayla “Pooh Bear” Huggins and partner Jason Weber, Abbie Loughry, Emmah Dooley, Brandon Loughry, Isaiah “Bubby” Dooley and partner Matthew Rogers, Connor Loughry, Malcolm Loughry and Brielle Loughry; her great-grandchildren, Makenna Wheatly, Mason Price and Mya Weber; her siblings, Ricky Miller and his wife Austie, Becky Miller Smith and her husband Clifton and Jodi Miller Woods and her husband Matthew; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and in-laws, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Laren Denise Huggins Reedy; and a brother, Randy Joe Miller.

She worked as an administrative secretary in the psychology and geriatric departments at West Virginia University. Vicki was a loving and devoted wife, and a doting grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved babies, the elderly and animals. Vicki also enjoyed crocheting and donated several of the afghans that she created to the Rosenbaum House.

Friends may join the family to honor Vicki’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown, from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, and again from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon on Friday, June 17, with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Following the funeral service and at her request, Vicki will be cremated.
