John Irvin Eddy, 74, of Westover, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at his home. He was born Oct. 7, 1947, in Sistersville, a son of the late Bernard Eddy and Ruth Henderson Eddy.
John retired as a civil engineer for the National Resource Conservation Service with many years of service. In his spare time, John also enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren
John is survived by his wife, Linda Gorby Eddy; one daughter, Shannon (Kirk) Wissmar, of Westover; three grandchildren, Reese Wissmar, Audrey Wissmar and Waylon Earl Eddy; and two brothers, James Eddy, of Covington, Ky., and Donnel (Carole) Eddy, of Charlottesville, Va.
John was preceded in death by his son, Craig Matthew Eddy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John’s memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio St. Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, from 1-3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. until the funeral service at 7 p.m. on Sunday with Pastor Albert Cage officiating. Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, at 11 a.m. on Monday.
