MORGANTOWN — Mountaineer United Soccer Club will now officially be known as BVBIA West Virginia after the announcement was made that a new partnership had been made with the organization most-famously houses German soccer giant Borussia Dortmund.
BVBIA West Virginia, formerly Mountaineer United, shared the following to the public on Sunday:
“BVB International Academy North America is happy to announce the launch of our newest affiliate — BVB International Academy West Virginia headquartered in Morgantown. The leadership team of this affiliate is a well-respected talented leadership group intensely focused on player development and the overall authenticity of their club’s culture.”
Raymond Kryzak, the club Registrar and one of the club administrators, said the partnership will give both players and coaches opportunities to grow in the sport through the help of BVB international, even opening the door for a wider range of scouting exposure for the local players.
“The benefit for the club is it provides a pathway for each individual player to reach their full potential within the club. Both boys and girls will have the opportunity to participate on several levels. All players will play with their local teams (during the school year), then at the select level they can play locally, regionally, or even nationally through BVBIA,” Kryzak said. “Additionally, players can be selected for the National pool via visits from BVB coaches. This will give them the experience and challenge players to improve their mentality and desire to become better players.
“Coaches will have the opportunity to go to Germany, integrate into the BVB academy, and gain experience by learning from some of the best coaches in Europe, bringing that knowledge and expertise back to the club. BVB coaches will also run summer camps for our players and work with our coaching on the coaching methodology they use in their very own academy.”
BVBIA West Virginia created a development plan for players in the Appalachian, Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions of the United States through the soccer methodology of the Borussia Dortmund Academy in Dortmund, Germany. Committed to creating the best training environment, system and player pathway for athletes.
BVB International Academy North America is the official United States youth soccer partner for Borussia Dortmund Youth Academy. Borussia Dortmund is known for providing opportunities for the best youth players including U.S. players like Christian Pulisic and Gio Reyna. BVBIA North America is headquartered in Carrollton, Texas.
Peter Brody, CEO of BVB International Academy North America, said, “We are very excited about this high quality, experienced group in West Virginia joining the BVB Black and Yellow family. Their success and passion mirrored those qualities in Borussia Dortmund that unites all of our International Academies across North America. We are very proud to welcome the great Mountain state of West Virginia and all the families and players.”
