The cause of death in the ongoing Matthew Moore homicide investigation was determined to be a gunshot wound, according to Monongalia County Sheriff Perry Palmer.
Moore’s body was found lying in the roadway in the area of Round Bottom Road in Monongalia County the morning of Saturday, May 7.
Sheriff Palmer was unable to release where the gunshot wound was on Moore’s body, only that the autopsy confirmed the wound as the cause of death.
Palmer said investigators are following up on some possible leads in the case, but no official suspects have been named at this time. The investigation is still ongoing.
