The Morgantown Police confirmed the driver of the vehicle that crashed under an Interstate 68 overpass Tuesday evening was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Morgantown Police Department, Morgantown Fire Department and Mon EMS units responded to the accident on W.Va. 7 in Sabraton at about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Officials said Wednesday the vehicle, a Dodge Dakota, drove into a support pillar under the I-68 overpass, causing the vehicle to catch fire.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which is still under investigation.
The name of the individual is not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
