Eva Janie George, 78, of Mansfield, Ohio, formally of Fairmont, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022, at her home, peacefully in her sleep. She was born Aug. 18, 1943, in Nicholas County, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Genevie Martin.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker who loved cooking and caring for her family. She was a member of First Apostolic Church.
She is survived by three sons, Donald George, Ronald George and James George, all of Ohio; five daughters, Betty O’Scier and husband Tom, Polly Bresock, Candy Roby and husband Glenn, all of Ohio, Barbara Reed, of Morgantown, and Ellen Gillespie and husband Chuck, of Fairmont; two stepdaughters, Debbie Sours and husband Clarence, of Ohio, and Bonnie Zatta and husband Ed, of New Jersey; one sister, Irene Holmes; two brothers, Roney Martin and Billy Barnett; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Albert George; one son, Jesse George; three sons-in-law, Alfred Reed, Jeffery Bresock and Joey Rivenbark; one brother, Artinnes Martin; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 with the Rev. Wheeler Estepp officiating. Eva will be laid to rest at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
