Randrew Rinehart

Randrew “Randy” Melvin Rinehart, 72, of Aurora, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Preston Memorial Hospital.

Randy was born July 13, 1949, in Aurora, a son of the late Ronald Milton and Mary Ellen (Bohon) Rinehart.

He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was an avid hunter, especially with his brothers-in-law, Mike and Bill. He loved the great outdoors, hiking, digging ginseng and ramps and watching wildlife. He knew every hill and hollow for miles around. He enjoyed working the farm with his family. He was known for his hard work and his exceptional work ethic of always going above and beyond, his love and kindness and most, of all, his love and devotion for his family.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sylvia “Jean” (Patterson) Rinehart; one daughter, Debra Ann Stone and companion Donnie Friend, of Terra Alta; one son and spouse, Donald and Jackie Rinehart, of Ridgley; two brothers and spouse, Mark and Susie Rinehart, of Terra Alta, and Nick Rinehart, of Kentucky; four sisters and spouse, Jean McNally, of Kentucky, Barbara and Woody Williams, of Virginia; Joyce Huffman, of Tennessee, and Althiea Moats, of Arizona; three grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor, of Utah, Jeremy Nelson and companion Kayla, of Morgantown, and Amie Rinehart, of Winchester, Va.; and three great-grandchildren, Colten, Lillian and Nathan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Rinehart; and three brothers-in-law, Johnny McNally, Ron Huffman and Roy Moats.

Friends will be received at the Stemple Ridge United Methodist Church, at noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, with Pastor Sabrina Tenney officiating. Interment will follow at the Stemple Ridge Cemetery, where Military honors will be accorded.
