Edward Brian Chesney, 64, of Morgantown, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, at the Morgantown Health and Rehabilitation Center, following a long illness. He was born Nov. 17, 1957, in Morgantown, a son to George and Florence Chesney.
Brian worked as an auto mechanic for various shops around the area and, prior to his illness, worked with his brother Danny at Progressive Industries, repairing mining equipment. He was Catholic by faith.
Brian is survived by his children, Belinda Hicks, Brianna Chesney, Brandie Chesney and Bambi Jo Chesney; two brothers, George Phillip “Phil” Chesney Jr. and Danny (Mary) Chesney; half-sister, Nicole Foster; stepsister, Phyllis Kayali; ex-wife, Barbara Pritt; and his beloved grandchildren, Hannah, Nick, Emma, Lacy, Levi, Jaxon, Gavin, Liam and Colton.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, George Chesney Sr.; his mother, Florence Fox; stepmother, Betty Chesney; his grandmother, who raised him, Katherine Rose Chesney; one sister, Mabel Katherine Franklin; former wife, Susan Boggs; and niece, Sara Jane Chesney.
The family will receive friends at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home, from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26. Honoring Brian’s wishes, cremation will follow with a private inurnment to be held by the family at a later date.
