Clarsia Ann (Paugh) Teets, 90, of Kingwood, died at home per her last wish on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Ann was born on May 5, 1931, in Shelmar, Md. a daughter of the late Leonard Evers and Mary Ellen (Grubb) Paugh. She was the only surviving child of a family of 13. Being the baby, she lived through the Great Depression and went on to have 10 children of her own.
Ann was not only a wonderful mother, she was also a father as well to her children. She worked tireless hours to care for her children in and outside the home.
When it comes to mothers, she was truly the essence of the word and gave unconditional love to all. How comforting to lose her on Valentine’s Day. She has always loved the Lord and tried to do right. She enjoyed cross stitching, sewing and Christian music. She was a member of the First Christian Apostolic Church of Tunnelton.
Ann is survived by three sons and spouses, John “Bucky” and Robin Koton, of Kingwood, Jay “Tooker” and Shelby Teets, of Manton, Mich., and Randy Teets, of Kingwood; four daughters and spouses, Helen Larr, of Manton, Mich., Clarsia Ellen and Frank Hawkins, of Newburg, Barbara Thorn, of Howesville, and Mary Ann and Brad Bankhead, of Bruceton Mills; 28 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of eight years, Gerald Jay Teets; three sons, Thomas Koton, Ronald Teets and George “Finnie” Paugh; a granddaughter, Cindy Hawkins; two sons-in-law, Rodger Thorn and Dale Larr; eight brothers; and four sisters.
Friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price St., from noon until the time of the funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, with the Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Masks are optional.
Among her children, her care caregivers were Irene Rand (wonderful family friend), Rosaletta Tribett (Preston Senior Center), Janet Henline, Jamie and Franny Wolfe and WV Caring. Many thanks, for the care they provided to Ann.
