MORGANTOWN — Here is a look at some of the bills introduced on Monday, Feb. 14. Local sponsors and cosponsors, if any, are noted.

SB 622, to establish a new legal and regulatory framework for drilling of injection wells and operation of facilities for the underground sequestration of injected carbon dioxide and for the state to pursue primacy authorization for oversight and enforcement of laws for underground carbon dioxide sequestration. Sen. Randy Smith, R-Tucker, lead sponsor.

SB 623, to create a state Living Donor Protection Act; setting forth prohibited acts related to insurance coverage for living organ donors; authorizing enforcement by the insurance commissioner. Sens. Bob Beach, D-Monongalia, Mike Caputo, D-Marion, Mike Maroney, R-Marshall, co-sponsors.

HB 6665, to increase the minimum wage based upon increases in the consumer price index. Delegate John Williams, D-Monongalia, sponsor.

HB 4668, to prohibit counterfeit and nonfunctional air bags; establishes penalties for air bag fraud.

HB 4673, regarding cruelty to animals; provides definitions of food, water, shelter and treatment; provides specifics for tethering an animal; provides for seizure of an animal for violations in addition to increasing criminal penalties; provides that a person in violation for a second time shall be added to a statewide, publicly available, do-not-adopt-or-sell registry. HB 4675, to authorize the operation of low-speed autonomous delivery vehicle on certain streets and roads.

HCR 64, to name a portion of Old Route 73 in Preston County the Robin W. Ames Memorial Road. Delegate Evan Hansen, D-Monongalia, lead sponsor; Walker, Williams and Delegates Barbara Evans Fleischauer, D-Monongalia, and Joe Statler, R-Monongalia, co-sponsors.
