Stanley Louis Dlugos, 79, of Morgantown passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, at the Mon Health Medical Center.
He was born in Morgantown on April 19, 1942, a son of the late George and Sophia Sura Dlugos.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 55 years, Judy Michael Dlugos; two sons, Mark Mathew Dlugos and Todd Edward Dlugos and wife Kelly; and his grandchildren, Matthew David Dlugos, Allison Elizabeth Dlugos and Katherine Grace Dlugos.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, John Michael Dlugos, and his brother, David Dlugos.
Stanley served for 12 years as a pathfinder at Mon Health Medical Center, logging 6053 hours of volunteer work. He and his wife belonged to the Miracle Music Dance and Support Group. He previously worked at the Boys Club of Cleveland, Wal-Mart, part-time for Citynet, Stan’s Wholesale, DeCarlo’s Wholesale and WVU Standardized Patient Services. He was a member of St. John University Parish.
Friends may join the family to honor Stanley’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown, from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. on Monday evening to conclude the visitation. Mr. Dlugos will be moved to St. John University Parish, 1481 University Ave., Morgantown, to lie in repose from 9 a.m. until the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, with the Rev. Fr. Brian J. Crenwelge and the Rev. Fr. Phillip Szabo as con-celebrants. Following the funeral mass, Mr. Dlugos will be laid to rest at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
At the request of the family, Face coverings will be optional for those in attendance at the visitation and funeral mass.
