Lisa Nicole Biebel, 41, of Morgantown, passed away Monday night, Feb. 7, 2022 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital with her family and the people she loved at her side.
She was born April 22, 1980, in Caro, Mich., a daughter of Marjorie Kupiec Biebel, of Caro, Mich., and the late Nicholas Biebel.
Lisa is survived by her wife, Angela Hanlin; her daughter, Caylie; brother, Mark Biebel, of Caro, Mich.; sisters, Marian Swartz, her husband Dan and their daughter Alexious, of Florida, and Christy Barnum, her husband Jeremiah and their son Jordan, of Florida; her best friend of 20 years, Dona Wratchford and her sons, Jacob and Dax; aunt, Patricia Tomaszewski, of Caro, Mich.; uncle, William Kupiec, of Kingston, Mich. and Debbie Dickersin, of Caro, Mich.; uncle David Lewicki and wife Gail, of Phoenix; uncle, Dan Lewicki and his wife Arcelia, of Rockford, Mich.; uncle, Tom Lewicki and his wife Debbie, of Rockford, Mich.; brother-in-law, Billy Hines, his wife Andrea and their son Malaki, of Oakland, Md.; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Freda Hines, of Morgantown; and cousins, Andrew and Jason Lewicki, of Michigan, and Brian and Larry Lee, also of Michigan.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ann and Ed Lewicki; uncles Ron Lewicki and Larry Tomascewski; an aunt, Marsha Lewicki; and her stepfather Ted Heinz.
Lisa was a proud United States Army veteran, having served in Kosovo as a medic from 1998-2002. She loved being in the outdoors, camping and always enjoyed a good campfire. She loved animals, woodworking, gardening, big creative cooking and spending time with her nephews.
Lisa simply loved life and everything in it. She knew how to have a good time and could make you laugh in an instant. She had a very infectious laugh. She was competitive, loved bowling, playing poker, picking her banjo and listening to Bluegrass music.
Friends may join the family to honor Lisa’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown, from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13 and again from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon on Monday, Feb. 14 officiated by Father Walter Jagela. Following the funeral service, Lisa will be laid to rest with full military honors accorded at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
The family requests that proper face coverings be worn at the funeral home. At Lisa’s request, please dress casually for the visitation and funeral service.
