Marie Jenkins

Marie Livengood Jenkins, 99, of Albright (Woolen Mills community), passed away Feb. 4, 2022, at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood.

The daughter of the late Orah Hume and Jennie F. Awman Livengood, she was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Cuzzart.

Marie was a faithful member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, and she belonged to the Cuzzart Helping Hands Quilting Group and the Lenox Homemakers. Her hobbies included vegetable and flower gardening, sewing, quilting and playing spider. Cherished were the many quilts made for her family. She enjoyed Sunday dinners with her family and large family gatherings. After her husband’s death, she managed Woolen Mill Trucking Company.

Marie is survived by a daughter, Judy Lee Adams, of Douglasville, Ga.; three sons, Larry Doyan Jenkins, of Morgantown, Jeffrey Dean Jenkins and his wife Debbie, of Kingwood, and Anthony Dion Jenkins and his wife Cynthia, of Albright; a daughter-in-law, Hellen Jenkins, of Inwood; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Louella Hinebaugh and her husband Robert, of Friendsville, Md., Ardis Metheny, of Beaver Falls, Pa., Avis Washington, of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla., and Bonnie Graham and her husband Clayton, of Albright; a brother and his wife, Delmer “Pete” Livengood and Brenda, of Blairs, Va.; a sister-in-law, Shirley Bolinger, of Albright; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Doyan Jenkin; son, Terry Dwayne Jenkins; great-grandson, Bobby Scott Johnson; great-granddaughter, Ashley Adams; sisters, Wilma (Boomie) Ryan and Anetta (Bobbie) Miller; brothers, Wilfred (Bill) Livengood and Harlon (Jake) Livengood; sisters-in-law, Maxine Livengood, Annabelle Livengood and Mary Joan Jenkins; brothers-in-law, Paul Ryan, Vernon Miller, James Metheny, John Washington, Milford Jenkins and Ronald Bolinger; and mother and father-in-law, Frank and Verna Jenkins.

Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, from 10 a.m. until the service at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 8, with Pastor Timothy P. Edin officiating. Burial will follow at Preston Memorial Gardens in Kingwood.

As a result of COVID-19 and related viruses, the family requests that the wearing of masks and maintaining social distancing be observed.
