
Jim “Big Jim” Myers, 63, of Terra Alta, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2022, at Mon Health Medical Center, Morgantown.
The son of Betty L. Spiker Myers, of Terra Alta, and the late Stanley R. “Sally” Myers, he was born Feb. 13, 1958, in Oakland.
He graduated from Terra Alta High School in the class of 1976. He was a long-time member of the Terra Alta Church of the Nazarene, where he was head of the youth group for many years.
Jim worked at Hillside trucking for 15 years and was well known in the trucking community as “Slim.” He worked at the Department of Highways for 15 years. He was a member of the Terra Alta Volunteer Fire Department for 17 years.
He is survived by his wife, Tara Myers; two sons, Shaun (Melanie) Myers, of Albright, and Jason (Bjarni) Myers, of Terra Alta; a brother, John (Beth) Myers, of Terra Alta; and two special granddaughters, Dalaynie and Tarayn Myers.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Myers.
Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, from 2-8 p.m on Friday and from 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, until the 11:00 a.m. time of service with the Rev. Gene David Turner officiating. Cremation services will follow.
