Joanne Woods, 87, of Morgantown, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at her home. She was born Oct. 25, 1934, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Chester and Ada (Murray) Hilling.
Joanne attended Covenant Christian Church and worked for many years at Goff Elementary School. She loved spending time with her family and always enjoyed family gatherings and functions.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald Woods; children, Cary Woods and his wife Kerry, of Morgantown, and Donna Jackson, of Cottageville, S.C.; grandchildren, Daniel Woods, of Morgantown, Nathan Jackson, of South Carolina, and Matthew Jackson, of South Carolina; sister-in-law, Lorna Hart; and special nieces, Betty and Sharon.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Foster Hilling, Norman Hilling, Dennis Hilling, Ernest Hilling, James Hilling, Robert Hilling, Gaylord Hilling, Hilda Hilling, Jean Maxon, Janice Hess and Patricia Hilling.
The family would like to thank caregivers, Terry and Kim and Amedisys workers Emily, Misty, Shauna and Wendy for all of their love and support.

In keeping with her wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at Summers Cemetery on Summers School Road.
