Donna Rehe

Donna Juanita (Spangler) Rehe, 89, of Masontown, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born March 31, 1932, in Masontown, a daughter of the late Ray Fillmore and Beatrice Naola (Calvert) Spangler.

A 1949 graduate of Masontown High School, Donna worked beside her husband, Harold, running Sharon Coal Company, which they started together. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working puzzles. She found enjoyment in spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: daughter, Pamela Friend and husband Jim Friend, of Masontown; son, Harold Rehe Jr., of Masontown; daughter, Debbie Haney and husband Jim Haney, of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; daughter, Karen Brewer and husband Jack Brewer, of Reedsville; and daughter, Diana Rehe, of Masontown. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Rehe Sr.; sister, Erma Spangler Summers; sister, Clara Jean Spangler; brother, Frank Spangler; daughter, Sharon Rehe Born Lockerbie; and grandson, Jason Born.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Morgan Funeral home and a private family service will be held later in time. There will also be a remembrance for family and friends held at a later date. The family requests that donations be made to either St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or Shriners Hospitals (http://donate.lovetotherescue.org ).

Private Graveside services will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Masontown, at a later date.
